How to use the BPM counter
- Play the song or have the tempo in your head.
- Click TAP, tap your phone or press the space bar at least 4 to 8 times in time.
- The BPM shows up big at the top. If it feels double or half speed, fix it with ½ or ×2.
- After a 2-second pause the measurement restarts; Reset sets everything back to 120 BPM.
Why musicians use tap tempo

How does tap tempo work?
Tap the button or the space bar at least twice in time with the music. The tool measures the gaps between taps and calculates the BPM (beats per minute). The more you tap, the more accurate it gets. After a two-second pause the measurement starts over.
How do I find the BPM of a song?
Play the song and tap along on the quarter notes, where you’d naturally tap your foot. After 8 to 12 taps you’ll have a stable value. If it feels double or half speed, fix it with ½ or ×2.
What are the ms values below the tempo for?
Use them to set delay and reverb times to the song, e.g. an eighth-note delay for guitar or the vocal delay on the desk. Click a value to copy it.
